Financial Administrator
Why is this vacancy so interesting?
In this position, you will be responsible for our entire financial administration. So it’s a very broad function. You play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing of our financial processes of both our event venue and the management companies of the board members. Your tasks consist of booking invoices, cash and bank. In addition, you are also responsible for our accounts payable and receivable management and you take care of the general ledger administration. But that’s not all. You provide support with periodic activities and internal checks. You control the cash flow and prepare cash flow reports. You will also make periodic reports and financial analyses for management and shareholders. Based on these reports and analyses, you will also make recommendations and support in making financial decisions and preparing budgets. And finally, you will also assist with payroll administration.The team
You will be working in our small team in Zaandam, which mainly consists of family members. There are currently 4 people working in the office.Who are you?
With your analytical and numerical insight, you find it a challenge to dive into everything. You think in terms of solutions and always work accurately. You keep an overview and are good at setting the right priorities. You have good communication skills and you can function well both independently and in a team. In addition, we ask:- At least an MBO diploma in the direction of accounting, finance or similar
- At least 3 years of experience in financial administration
- Experience with Exact online and good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Suite
- Affinity with the event industry, experience in this industry is a plus
What do we offer you?
Working with us means that you will be working in a small, family organization with a pleasant working atmosphere. There is a lot of hard work, but also a lot of laughter. That makes it very personal, but also creates the necessary dynamics. You are the only one who will be busy with the financial administration on a daily basis. So you have a lot of freedom in planning and executing, but you have to keep a close eye on all deadlines. We also offer you:- An excellent salary between €2700 and €3000 gross per month based on full-time (salary scale depends on your knowledge and experience)
- A position between 24 and 32 hours where you will be present on location in Zaandam every day
- 25 vacation days on a full-time basis and 8% vacation pay
- Travel allowance of €0.21 per kilometre >5 km
- Free parking in front of the door, but we are also easily accessible by public transport

EVENT MANAGEMENT & MARKETING INTERN
Are you interested in working behind the scenes of events and gaining experience in event management, production, and marketing? Then this internship might be perfect for you.
At Hemkade, you’ll get the opportunity to be involved in different parts of the organization. Part of the week you’ll support operational and production-related tasks surrounding events, while the other part focuses more on marketing, content, and creative projects.

At the end of 2026, Hemkade will be announcing many exciting new plans and projects: and you could be part of them from the very beginning. This means: learning a lot, testing ideas, thinking creatively, and truly having the space to bring your own ideas to life.
You’ll work in a small and close-knit team, which means communication is fast and personal. No endless meetings or needing approval from ten different people: good ideas can actually be executed here.
Hemkade is a family-run company with a strong community and an informal working atmosphere. You’ll gain hands-on experience within a dynamic event venue where no two days are the same.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
During this internship, you’ll support different teams within Hemkade with a variety of tasks, including:
- Supporting the preparation and production of events
- Assisting during production build-up and breakdown
- Supporting operational and hospitality-related tasks during events
- Maintaining contact with suppliers, creative partners, and activations
- Supporting social media, content, and marketing projects
- Editing TikToks, Reels, and short-form videos
- Organizing and managing deliverables from the media team
- Answering FAQs and visitor questions
- Supporting lost & found and general visitor service
- Managing stock and inventory, including post-event inventory counts
- Brainstorming about new concepts, events, and campaigns
- Supporting various projects and general tasks
WHO ARE YOU?
You are organized, creative, and able to maintain a good overview, even when multiple things are happening at once. You enjoy being both practical and creative, and you’re not afraid to take initiative.
We’re also looking for someone who:
- Is currently studying Event Management, Marketing/Media, Communication, Hospitality, or a related MBO/HBO education
- Is available from the end of August 2026 until the end of January 2027
- Is available 4 to 5 days per week
- Is flexible and doesn’t mind occasionally working evenings or weekends during events
- Works independently, in a structured way, and takes initiative
- Is both creative and practical
- Can switch easily between different tasks and responsibilities
- Does not have a strict 9-to-5 mentality
- Has experience with content creation or social media (preferred)
- Has a driver’s license (preferred)

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
This is not a remote or on-demand internship. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of the team on location and actively contributing during events and projects.
Our team is mainly Dutch, so some internal communication may happen in Dutch. Speaking Dutch is not required, but it’s important to know that the workplace is not fully English-speaking at all times.
